Audio Visual Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Audio Visual (AV) and Communications Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio visual and communications systems. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the successful implementation and operation of AV solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and test audio visual and communications equipment, including but not limited to projectors, displays, audio systems, video conferencing systems, digital signage, and network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure that installations meet client requirements and are completed within established timelines and budget constraints.
  • Perform site surveys to assess environmental conditions, identify equipment placement locations, and determine cabling requirements.
  • Terminate and test audio, video, and data cables, ensuring proper signal flow and compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with AV and communications systems, identifying root causes and implementing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, including training on system operation and troubleshooting guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, installation configurations, and service history.
  • Assist in the design and layout of AV systems, offering input on equipment selection, wiring diagrams, and installation best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and product advancements in audio visual and communications technology.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is a plus. AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, are a huge plus.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in audio visual and communications installation and support.
  • Proficiency in the installation and configuration of AV equipment, including familiarity with mounting hardware, cabling, and signal routing.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Experience with audio and video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and related peripherals.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, IP addressing, and network protocols.
  • Basic understanding of construction practices and the ability to interpret architectural drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as project requirements dictate.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Location

This position is based in Boise, ID, with occasional travel to client sites within the region.

Lead Furniture Installer

Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Oversee installation for all projects
  • Lead projects as appropriate
  • Input daily hours against projects for all team members on the project
  • Issue resolution
  • Manage temporary labor on projects.  Ensure timecards are complete with job numbers and turned into the Project Manager.
  • Responsible for job-specific equipment and tools
  • Coordinate the allocation of labor & resources
  • Report daily on project progress and any unresolved issues
  • Management of team to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Proper training of your team
  • Establish and monitor project-specific safety guidelines.
  • Project efficiencies identified and shared with the team
  • Sales and technical support
  • Tracking and resolution of all job-specific punch list items
  • Oversee all job sites are maintained at a high level of organization and cleanliness

Develop a High Performing Sales Team

  • Become expert level in responding to and winning bids and competitive opportunities
  • Win the majority of RFPs and competitive bids in each market

Vendor Alignment and Management

  • Understand and implement vendor alignment strategies as determined by leadership
